oh, when the saints go marching in
I love All Saints Day. There is such beauty in that day. It is a day to celebrate the Saints of the Christian faith. I used to always celebrate it with a focus on St. Ambrose, the Saint who basically produced St. Augustine, with the help of Augustine’s mother of course. I like the traditional Latin Mass on All Saint’s Day. Are you Catholic?
Yes… and happy to be
St Ambrose was indeed a great man and the one who brought St Augustine to the dept of christian faith.
The traditions of the old church is a great example for all of us indeed…
Happy day!
I deeply appreciate this site with the Biblical references. I am an Episcopal priest. Although All Saints Day does not fall on a Sunday this year, we are celebrating it on the 3rd. I plan to refer people to your site for exposure to the scriptures you have provided. With the younger congregation now, sometimes these Holy Days don’t mean much. We are talking about All Saints and All Souls on the same day. For fun, and as a reminder of our sainthood in Christ, I call this Sunday Red Licorice Sunday. Everyone gets a piece of red licorice to remind them that they are Saints. Red is the liturgical color for saints. Thanks for this article.
The Word is a Light on our path. Without, we walk in darkness. And the faith and traditions of our forefathers are a sure beacon in daily life. They helps us to stay grounded in our past, present and future. Most of those holy days are powerful cosmic events as well. Let us obey and humble our self in the Presence of the Holy One, and adore. Hi Marayam,I love this your beautiful blog post, not just because of the poem at the beginning, exhorting us to be holy like all the saints we celebrate on the “All Saints Day” but also because of the multitude of bible verses from both Old and the New Testament that emphasise the need for believers to live the Godly lifestyle. My experience in the Christian faith is a lifelong journey of discovery. I was born in a very poor village in sub Saharan Africa, but by simple faith in Lord Jesus Christ and trusting in Him daily, I am now a British Citizen, with both BSc and MSc in Engineering, and I have many wonderful testimonies of what can be accomplished by believing in the “message of truth, Gospel of salvation” as you quoted in Ephesians 1:13. Thanks for the fantastic post which I will share shortly with friends and family.
Hi Chris, your testimony moved me to tears. Thank you Lord for a beautiful gift. The gift of faith. Walking His path, carried by Him, most of the time. Stay blessed! M.
