Lyrical Seed Psalm 11
[Verse 1 — softly spoken]
They tell me, “Fly for shelter;
the arrows wait unseen.
The ground beneath the faithful
is breaking at the seams.”
[Response — lightly sung]
You are my refuge;
I will not live by fear.
Though the foundations tremble,
Your faithful gaze is here.
[Verse 2 — softly spoken]
You are not absent from the ruins,
nor blinded by the night.
You know the hands that carry peace;
You love what is just and right.
[Response — gentle harmony]
You are my refuge;
I will not live by fear.
Though the foundations tremble,
Your faithful gaze is here.
[Bridge — gently rising]
Let courage not become hardness.
Let trust not close my eyes.
Keep my heart upright before You
when shadows counsel flight.
[Final Response — quiet and steady]
Though the foundations tremble…
I remain beneath Your light.
Hook Idea
Sing “You are my refuge” as a simple rising phrase over Am–G. Let “Though the foundations tremble” move downward through F, then settle firmly on E with “Your faithful gaze is here.”
And the illustration?
I’ll illustrate the moment when everything seems unstable, yet the soul does not flee: trembling ground and distant shadows, held beneath one steady, sheltering light.
The stones are broken.
The shadows are gathering.
The bird could fly.
Yet trust remains—
not because danger is imaginary,
but because the light is still real. ❤️🙏🏼
Though the foundations tremble,
Your faithful gaze is here.
