The virgin of the poor
That is how our Lady
Called herself
During her apparitions
In Banneux
A little village
In Wallonia
The apparitions lasted
From the 15th of January
till the 2nd of March 1933
To Mariette BECO
Today it has become
A place of pilgrimage
To a little miraculous spring
Her words:
Push your hands into the water.
This spring is reserved for Me
I am the Virgin of the Poor.
This spring is reserved for all nations… for the sick.
I will pray for you – goodbye
Hello Marayam, thank you for sharing this piece you have titled The Virgin of The Poor. The reason God sent Jesus to earth was to die for us all and take away our sins and give us new life in return. God decided that He wants Jesus Christ to be born of the Virgin to save the poor. We are the poor as we are all sinners…Peace out!
Amen… we sure are!
Maria
Therein lies some beautiful words. Sometimes the fewest words can have the greatest meaning. As such, it is more what lies behind that adds weight.Faith is something that enables the many to join together, that in turn gives strength to the belief. Now many will travel to be where the silent echoes still remain and take comfort in knowing that they are part of something much greater than one. The words still hold true today, even more so as the world we live in is fragile. A blessed place gives sanctuary but also hope to those that most need it.
Thank you for sharing this reading. I have no idea that the Virgin Mary also calls herself The Virgin of the Poor. It is nice to see one site solely dedicated to the Virgin Mary. By the way, you have an awesome name. I wish I was named after such a symbolic person. Cannot wait to read your next post 🙂
Dear Nuttanee
Banneux is such a peaceful place…
also called Banneux-Notre-Dame
to honor Our Lady
I was privileged to visit twice.. .
And all fades away when putting hands in the water
only salvation remains
And one feels empty handed and poor indeed
and peace and grace…
Thank you for your kind comment, keep visiting!
Maria
I must say a big thank you to you for bringing out this article for the public also it would be of help to us all…as a believer in the word of truth I would say our mother Mary is not just the virgin of the poor but the virgin of all..as he story from the Bible days has really been a source of strength to us all
Dear Romero, you have a beautiful name and it reminds me of archbishop Romero of San Salvador.
I understand you are Spanish, probably latino, and I would like to salute through you the people of South America, their faith and courage despite huge tribulations…
Poor are we indeed… very poor. And empty handed the Almighty always fills them. Stay blessed.
Thank you for the depth of your comment
Maria
Yes… she is the mother of all… and those who come to her find peace and consolation… her grace is beyond words… may we all love and honor her… more and more… join with her in prayers for a better world… for the conversion of our own hearts, and the hearts of those who dwell in darkness…
Thank you for your visit
Maria
