The Crown of My Thorns

Lord Jesus,
You wore the thorns I sowed.
In a world broken by sin,
You did not turn away from the curse—
You embraced it, pressed it to Your brow,
and called it redemption.

The thorns of Eden—
pain, shame, separation—
You wore them like a crown,
transforming agony into glory,
humiliation into honor,
death into life.

Forgive me, Lord,
for every thorn I’ve planted—
in pride, in bitterness, in silence.
Forgive the times I’ve walked past Your suffering
unmoved, ungrateful, unaware.

Today I lay my thorns at Your feet—
the guilt I carry, the wounds I hide,
the burdens too heavy to name.

Let Your mercy be the balm for my soul.
Let Your cross be my refuge.
Let Your resurrection be my hope.

Crowned in thorns, You reign in love.
Crowned in glory, You will come again.
Until that day, may I walk in grace,
mindful of Your sacrifice,
grateful for Your healing,
and ready to love with the love You first gave me.

Amen.

What are the thorns in your life? And how do you approach pain, guilt, or hardship?
