Yonah – The Dove
Yonah – The Dove. A poem inspired by the Jewish symbolism of the dove, weaving together themes of peace, covenant, divine presence, and Israel’s faithfulness:
Yonah – The Dove
She rose from the ark on wings of grace,
Over flood-swept worlds, through sacred space.
No voice she carried, no cry, no call—
But an olive leaf, a peace for all.
She hovered once o’er formless deep,
As Spirit brooded, silence steeped.
A breath of God in feathered flight,
Soft shadow birthing dawn from night.
Beloved dove in desert skies,
You trace the path where promise lies.
Through temple courts and sacrifice,
You speak of hearts made clean, made right.
O Israel, like yonah fair,
You nest beneath the Father’s care.
Though exiled, torn, and tempest-tossed,
Your song of love is never lost.
In whispered winds and wings above,
Still stirs the Spirit, still soars the dove.
A sign of peace, a vow once sworn,
Of hope renewed, of worlds reborn.
